Although you could save these very long leather gloves just for the opera, don't! Very long leather gloves look stylish and elegant on a cold winter day, particularly with 3/4 sleeves. The feel of these incredibly soft Italian lambskin leather opera length gloves on your arms is so sensual, so seductive, and the extra-long length of these gloves also keeps that bruising wind from creeping up your coat sleeve. Shhh! don't tell anyone they are practical...just be admired for the fabulous look.
All of our fine long leather gloves are made in Italy by our craftsmen at Fratelli Orsini. Each glove is made of the softest finest
Italian Lambskin leather, with a very smooth appearance, and incredibly fine machine sewing for almost invisible seams.
Opera length gloves come in two lengths, known as 12-button-length, and 16-button-length. Button-length is a glovemaker's term for
length up the arm, approximately one each per button, but it varies with the size of the glove. A smaller size glove will be a shorter glove,
and a larger size will be longer. All this to explain that 12 button gloves "cup the elbow" (just about past the elbow, but not quite) and 16
button gloves go to mid-upper-arm, halfway between the elbow and the shoulder -- traditional opera length gloves.
Besides traditional opera length gloves, we also stock a wide selection of long leather gloves in shorter lengths, from 4-button length to 8-button (just short of the elbow).
